MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — Renner made its return to the top of Class ‘A’ with an 11-7 win over the Sioux Falls Brewers in a rematch of last year’s title game.

The Monarchs trailed by four runs before scoring 10 straight to surge in front in the game. They posted a pair of four-run innings, including a grand slam from Jaxon Rosencranz, which gave them the lead they never relinquished. For Renner, the title feels even sweeter by knocking off the team they lost to last year.

“We’re pretty upset about that last season,” tournament MVP David Borchardt said. “It didn’t end the way we wanted to, of course. And having the team that we had this year, the pitching that we had, the hitting that we had, we were confident were going to get back.”

It’s the Monarchs’ 23rd championship and first since 2021.
