MULVANE, KAN. (KELO) — SDSU is set to open their season on Saturday at Oklahoma State.

The Jackrabbits, who are ranked No. 1 in the FCS, will be squaring off against an Oklahoma State team that is ranked 17th in the FBS.

The Jacks carry a 29-game winning streak, which is the third longest in FCS history. It dates back the season opener two years ago when they fell at Iowa. Now with its first matchup against an FBS opponent since then, SDSU will look to knock off a program that has been nationally ranked in 17 straight seasons.

“We’re going there for a reason. We’re going to compete. If we’re going to claim we’re one of the best in the country. Here’s an opportunity to showcase that. And I can tell you this. Our our players wouldn’t expect me to say it any differently,” SDSU head coach Jimmy Rogers said.

The Jackrabbifs come into the ganme with a 1-3 record against current Big 12 members.

Kickoff for the game with the Cowboys is 1 p.m.
