    Rock Rapids native excels in first game for Iowa

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Former Central Lyon/George-Little Rock High football star Reece Vander Zee made an immediate impact in his first collegiate game for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

    The true freshman from Rock Rapids, Iowa reeled in 5 catches for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Hawkeyes’ 40-0 win Saturday over Illinois State.

    The 6’4″ wide receiver will look to build off of his strong debut this coming Saturday when the Hawkeyes take on Iowa State in Iowa City.

    Sophomore linebacker Landyn Van Kekerix, from Rock Valley, Iowa recorded two tackles for the Hawkeyes in their win Saturday.
