ABERDEEN, S.D. (KELO) — The USF football team scored 20 points in the first quarter as the Cougars rolled to a 34-10 win over Northern State on Saturday.

The Coo started the game quickly. Dylan Rudningen capped off the game’s opening drive with a touchdown run.

USF forced a fumble and then went on the attack again. Hank Brown Jr. added a jet sweep touchdown run to make the lead 13-0.

The final play of the first quarter was a Camden Dean to Carter Slykhuis touchdown pass, building a 20-0 lead.

The Wolves tried to muster some offense in the first half, but struggled to do so. They also missed a pair of field goals.

Late in the first half, Northern State was trying to score, but Cade Morse put a stop to the drive with an interception. Rudningen added a touchdown a play later to build a 27-0 halftime lead.

The Wolves outscored the Cougars 10-7 in the second half, however they couldn’t overcome the first half damage on their way to a loss.
