    USF comes up short in loss to Missouri Western State

    ST. JOSEPH, MO. (USF) — Cougar Soccer came up short in a 2-1 loss to Missouri Western State today.

    USF forced seven shots today with two shots on goal while sophomore Mara Nelson recorded the loan goal, assisted by Sarah Miller , in the 61st minute.

    The Griffons scored in the 19th minute then again in the 44th minute off a penalty kick, but Sioux Falls shut Missouri Western out in the second half of play.

    Caroline Titze started in net for USF. Titze recorded three saves in 45 minutes of action before Delani Daubman came in for the second half. Daubman gave up no goals while recording six saves.

    Julia Bowman , Lily Dahler and Mara Nelson each recorded two shots for Sioux Falls while Bowman and Nelson landed the two shots on goal.

    The Coo will hit the road once again next weekend as they take on Wayne State at 1pm on Sunday, September 22 at the Wayne State Soccer Complex.
