VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — The USD football team saw their third game of the season cancelled, as Portland State had multiple cases of whooping cough, but now the Coyotes are ready to return to action.

USD will finally return home, after not playing in the DakotaDome since Thursday, August 29.

The Yotes are looking to bounce back from their loss against FBS foe, Wisconsin. USD will now meet Drake, a team they haven’t faced since 2017.

The Coyotes are 11-8 all-time against the Bulldogs, but Drake is coming off a key win two weeks ago.

“Ironically, they didn’t play last week as well, as they had a scheduled bye. They’re coming off a win themselves, over a Big Sky team out at Eastern Washington, which was a great win for them,” USD head coach Bob Nielson said.

USD and Drake will meet Saturday at 1 p.m. in Vermillion.
