    Brookings blanks Pierre in Game of the Week

    Brookings claimed a 13-0 win over Pierre in the Game of the Week on Friday. You can see highlights on the KELOLAND SportsZone Friday at 10:15 p.m.

    BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The KELOLAND Sports Game of the Week returns Friday with a ranked battle in class 11AA.

    #5 Brookings welcomes #2 Pierre to Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium for a 7:05 p.m. kick-off.

    You can watch the game in the player above, when kick-off nears.

    #2 PIERRE GOVERNORS

    The Governors are off to a 2-1 start, following a loss to the previous second ranked team, Watertown.

    The Arrows picked up a 28-14 win at Pierre last week.

    Kaleb Lounsbury has thrown for 654 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions for the Governors. His leading receiver is Cooper Terwilliger, one of the top players in the state. He has 15 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown.

    Trevor Rounds has rushed for 202 yards and a score.

    #5 BROOKINGS BOBCATS

    The Bobcats are off to a perfect 3-0 start, defeating Sturgis, Mitchell and Aberdeen Central. Three teams who have a combined 3-6 record.

    However, Brookings rolled in their first two games, outscoring the Scoopers and Mitchell 65-0.

    The Bobcats needed a late score and conversion to edge the Golden Eagles, 8-7 last week.

    Now, it’s the toughest test of the season for the Bobcats with Pierre coming to town.

    THE GAME

    KELOLAND Sports will have live coverage of the game. Pregame begins at 7 p.m. on KELOXTRA and KELOLAND.com.

    Kick-off is set for 7:05 p.m.

    Play-by-play will be provided by KELOLAND’s Jordan DeSmet, a former Northwestern offensive lineman.
