VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — The USD football team is coming off one of their more complete victories in recent seasons.

The Coyotes scored 14 in the first quarter and 21 in the second quarter to build a 35-7 halftime lead, on their way to a 42-13 victory.

The Yotes put up nearly 550 yards of total offense, while finding success in all facets of the game.

“From a coaching standpoint, our coaches had really good plans. I was really pleased with the way our young men went out and executed those plans, in all three phases of the game. As a result, we were able to build an early halftime lead,” USD head coach Bob Nielson said.

USD returns to action Saturday. They’ll play at Murray State at 2 p.m.
