SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Stampede started the season strong collecting two wins at the USHL Fall Classic.

Sioux Falls then fell to the Sioux City Musketeers 6-3 putting them at 2-1 on the season. The Herd has worked to rectify their mistakes this past week and look to bounce back ahead of their home opener on Saturday.

“We lost that game because of special teams. Our power play and penalty kill was not great. Something we’re working on this week and hope to improve and if we do that and couple that with our compete level, we should be okay,” Stampede head coach Ryan Cruthers said.

“We buried two goals in a minute, I think that kind of shows like the scoring talent that we have and the high octane offense that we have,” Stampede forward Brock James said.

The Stampede’s home opener against the Lincoln Stars is set for Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at the Premier Center.
