    Lenards, Watertown lead Class ‘AA’ golf after day one

    WATERTOWN, S.D. (KELO) — Watertown shot a six-under par to hold first place after the first day of the Class ‘AA’ state golf tournament at Cattail Crossing Golf Course. The Arrows were led by Ty Lenards, who leads the individual competition at six-under as well.

    Pierre sits in second place and is the only other team below par. The Governors are one-under par. Harrisburg is third at two-over. O’Gorman (+6) and Brandon Valley (+8) round out the top five.

    Lenards shot a bogey-free round with six birdies. There is a three-way tie for second place at behind him. Charlie Swift (Harrisburg), Nicklaus Bothun (Pierre) and Derek Andersen (Tea Area) are all three-under par. Drew Simon from O’Gorman is fifth at two-under par.

    The second and final round of the tournament is set to be played Tuesday.
