    SculptureWalk announces 2024 People’s Choice Awards

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls woman’s sculpture was chosen in the top three of the People’s Choice Awards for the 2024 Sioux Falls SculptureWalk Exhibition.

    “Musician’s Clockwork,” created by Alex Miller of Waterloo, Iowa won first place in the exhibition. The guitar sculpture is more than seven feet high and was created with weathering steel. It stands in the Raven Industries parking lot. Miller receives a $3,000 award.

    “Jack Rust, the Forest Tinkerer” won second place and was sculpted by Staci Martinez of Sioux Falls. The mushroom and foliage sculpture is about three and a half feet high and was crafted from mild steel. It is located near the Cascade Building at 4th and Phillips Avenue. Martinez receives a $2,000 award.

    “Where the Buffalo Roam” created by Peter Vogelaar of Winlaw, B.C., received third place. The sculpture stands almost four feet high and was constructed with welded steel. This sculpture is located at the Phillips Avenue Diner. Vogelaar receives a $1,000 award.

    The SculptureWalk is the largest year-round outdoor sculpture program in the world attracting more than 300,000 visitors each year. More than 80 sculptures are on display downtown Sioux Falls with more added annually.
