SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Augustana hockey team sits 1-1 after splitting their season opening series against Long Island on home ice.

Now the Vikings hit the road to battle #12 Omaha. The Mavericks sit 2-0 on the season after claiming wins over two ranked teams. The 12th ranked team last met Augie in a home and home series during the Vikings’ rookie season last year where Omaha claimed a sweep.

“We found out last year we had some gaps to close to put ourselves in a place to challenge for a win. We feel like if we play solid and together for 60 minutes, we can make it interesting,” head coach Garrett Raboin said.

Augustana begins their series with Omaha Friday, puck drops at 7:07 P.M.
