SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A wide variety of high temperatures have spanned across our region today as far western South Dakota sits in the 40s and it gradually warms up into the 70s the further east you go. Cooler air is brought in from the cold front that continues to move across eastern KELOLAND.

The Black Hills saw their first snow of the season today, rain and a frozen mix has continued to hang around that area early this afternoon, but will move out by this evening. Scattered showers will develop in northeastern and south-central KELOLAND as the front moves into Minnesota going into the overnight hours.

Lows will stay mild ahead of the front, otherwise temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s across most of South Dakota with the wind staying on the lighter side. Cloud cover will start to clear out by tomorrow morning in western and central South Dakota. Southeastern KELOLAND has a chance for scattered showers, but the area will dry out going into the afternoon.

It will be a cooler, but pleasant Saturday as temperatures for most of us will be in the 60s and above-average for this time of year. With calm winds and humidity not dropping too low, fire danger is not much of a concern and it will be a great day for any outdoor activities.

A ridge will build back into our region by Sunday, warming temperatures back into the 70s and 80s. Next week has limited rain chances, with Wednesday being the best opportunity. Even with our temperatures cooling by mid-week, highs will still be near to above-average with lows staying out of the freezing range.
