Storm Center PM Update: Spotty Rain Chances into Tuesday

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — While Saturday was at least a seasonable day for much of the region, today has been the opposite…with well above average temperatures across the board. Some areas were upward of 20 to 25 degrees above average for this time of year, which is in the upper 50s for many.

Monday holds another round of unseasonable warmth with widespread 70s on the way and a few low 80s hanging tough in a few spots. We do gradually back off a bit going into the second half of the week, but the overall trend is a warmer one as we head toward the final weekend of October.

Circling back to Monday, we do get a few chances for spotty showers later in the day and into the night. A rumble of thunder or two may even be possible toward the SD/NE border near the likes of Yankton and Vermillion. We aren’t looking at too much rain where it is observed, but it’s at least something.

Our next chance for rain comes right in on the next evening and into Tuesday night. Again, it’s not a widespread chance with not everyone having a chance to see something. Either way, keep this in mind if you have any plans. This moisture should be out of here by morning on Wednesday.

In general, we stay dry through the rest of the week after that and into next weekend as well.

Odds for above average temperatures remain favored as we head toward and beyond Halloween.
