FARGO, N.D. (KELO) — The latest installment of the Dakota Marker game was a low-scoring affair in which the two teams combined for 22 points.

SDSU came up on the short end in a 13-9 loss to NDSU. Chase Mason registered the Jacks lone touchdown on the night with a 66-yard run for a score. The Jackrabbits were held scoreless in the second half.

Despite the challenges in finding the endzone, SDSU outgained the Bison by nearly 60 yards and held a 103-yard edge on the ground.

“We just didn’t execute where we needed to in certain situations,” SDSU senior quarterback Mark Gronowski said. “We were getting in the red zone, sometimes, just high red zone, and we weren’t able to finish those drives. We were working the ball, and we couldn’t finish. Again, penalties were part of it.”

The loss snaps the Jacks’ 32-game winning streak against FCS opponents. State will host USD Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
