Suspect in shooting found and booked in jail
On Friday, July 19, 2024 at 9:36 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of shots fired inside an apartment in the 4200 block of Northeast Cully Boulevard. When the arrived they learned that an adult male was alone in the apartment, had fired shots, and had access to multiple guns. Officers surrounded the apartment and began a dialogue with the man. He refused to come out of the apartment and began throwing objects out of windows, including household items and small furniture.

Portland Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Seize Illegal Firearms, Suspect Ahmed Kassim Arrested
Portland police successfully recovered a stolen 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan and seized three illegal firearms, in a coordinated operation that occurred on July 16, 2024, as reported by the Portland Police Bureau's news release. The vehicle, taken from its owner's driveway in Wilsonville earlier the same morning, was equipped with LoJack, a vehicle tracking system that alerted the East Precinct Neighborhood Response Team to its location in North Portland.
