Kendall County Food Pantry hosting Double Hero food and blood drive
The need for blood and food donations is on the rise this summer, and you can help out. The Kendall County Community Food Pantry is teaming up with Vitalant, a non-profit blood and biotherapy health care organization, to hold a Double Hero Blood and Food Drive on Monday. The drive will take place at the KCCFP building at 208 Beaver Street in Yorkville from 10am-4pm.
Traffic signals at busy Oswego intersection now activated
Motorists should now have an easier time getting through the increasingly busy intersection of Plainfield and Woolley roads in Oswego. Traffic lights at the intersection were activated on July 3. Plainfield Road is under the jurisdiction of Kendall County while Woolley Road east of Plainfield Road is under the jurisdiction of the village and Woolley Road west of Plainfield Road is under the jurisdiction of the Oswegoland Park District.

Kendall County fugitive arrested by U.S. Marshals in Oswego
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force collaborated on the arrest of a Montgomery man in Oswego on Thursday. 25-year-old Gerardo Zamores was taken into custody without incident on a Kendall County warrant for one count of child pornography and five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville for processing and was released with pre-trial conditions following a court hearing.
