    Kenilworth Brearley Coach to Celebrate Softball Retirement at Two Ton Brewing

    KENILWORTH, NJ - After 23 years of being at the helm of the David Brearley Softball Program, Head Coach Amy Efchak has decided to step down.

    To honor Amy's retirement, a celebration will be held at Kenilworth's Two Ton Brewing located at 730 Federal Avenue on Thursday, July 25, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Amy hopes many former students, friends, co-workers, and parents can come out to this joyful event. She also asks you to bring any old photos or share a favorite story.

    During her time as head coach for the Bears for 23 years, Amy helped to bring the Bears to win the states in 2005 and 2006, conference in 2004 and 2021, and county in 2005. On May 10, 2023, Amy hit another milestone, when her varsity girls’ softball team defeated the Johnson Crusaders 3-2, at home for Amy's 250th win with the program. Her immense enthusiasm for education and hard work has not been unnoticed. Not only has Amy been a recipient of the Teacher of the Year once, she has received this recognition THREE times and in 2005 and this 2024, she was named the Union County Coach of the year.
