According to a new report by the Charlotte Observer, workers at an airport in NC went on strike this week - and are demanding more pay. According to the report, workers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport went on a 24-hour strike on Thursday, May 23, with many of them calling for better pay, benefits, and work conditions.

According to the report, the strike was organized by Service Employees International Union's Airport Workers United, and the organization held a rally across the street from CDIA near Wilkinson Boulevard and North Josh Birmingham Parkway.

Organizers said that this weekend was the perfect time to hold a rally to show how important workers are during a busy holiday weekend. Workers at the airport make $14 an hour with few benefits.
