According to a new report by the U.S. News and World Report, a university in NC was ranked the #6 Best National University in America. According to the report, Duke University came in at #6 on the prestigious list, up one spot from last year - and its highest ranking since 2006.

To come up with the rankings, the publication ranks public and private institutions that "offer a range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research or award professional practice doctorates".

Duke shares the #6 spot with CalTech, John Hopkins University, and Northwestern University. Princeton University came in at #1 for the 14th consecutive year.
