Piggly Wiggly Will Be Closing One of Its Locations in Milwaukee – Nearly 50 Workers Will Be Laid Off

According to a new report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a major grocery chain is closing one of its locations in Milauwkee next month. According to the report, Piggly Wiggly is closing its location in the Oak Creek community in November.

According to the report, Piggly Wiggly, located at 2201 E. Rawson Ave, will likely close the location in the first week of November. Ben Malicki, the owner/manager of the location, took over the store in 2014.

Malicki said in a statement that he "tried different avenues to make it work", and that it was a difficult decision to close the store. Malicki said that he would help approximately 50 workers transfer to another location "If they wish".
