According to a new report by The Business Observer Florida, a FL eatery claims that storms and the "economy" played a role in shutting down its doors for good after 51 years in business.

According to the report, Capogna's Dugout announced on Sunday, October 13, that it would be shutting down its doors for good and that "we have taken a hit we cannot recover from". The sports-themed eatery first opened in Clearwater in March 1973 on Clearwater Gulf to Bay Boulevard.

The original owner, Al Capogna, died in 1994 - but the family continued to run the eatery. The eatery was a popular hangout spot for Little League teams and families.
