Last week Logan Larson pitched the Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks to their first ever State Amatuer Baseball Tournament. Thursday, Larson struck out 12 batters and pitched the Wood Ducks to their first ever win at the tournament, a 4-2 win over Menno. The Wood Ducks scored all 4 of their runs in the 5th inning. STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis City Council unanimously voted to approve a resolution affecting the American Flat Track Sturgis TT race scheduled for Sunday, August 11. City Council originally approved a road closure from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the Spirit of Sturgis TT race. However, a 50% chance of rain is forecasted on Sunday, prompting the City Council to hold a special meeting on Saturday.

Iowa nursing home operator faces more wrongful death claims
(Des Moines) One of Iowa’s largest nursing home operators, Care Initiatives of West Des Moines, is currently facing at least 10 wrongful death lawsuits. The lawsuits, all filed in state court over the past 18 months, include four against Northcrest Specialty Care in Waterloo, which has been the focus of at least 21 complaint investigations by the state in the past year.
