    Woman hit by car in Kenner, New Orleans man charged

    KENNER, La. ( WGNO ) — A New Orleans man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Kenner on Wednesday, June 19.

    Officials with the Kenner Police Department said officers responded to the 500 block of Interstate 10 and Loyola Drive around 9:30 p.m., where the crash was reported.

    At the scene, KPD officers said they found a woman on the side of the road who had been hit by a car while she was inspecting her car.

    KPD officials said the woman “suffered a significant head injury” as a result of the crash.

    According to police, other people in the victim’s car told officers they last saw the suspect’s car leaving the airport’s property.

    KPD officers later pulled over the car and arrested the driver, identified by the KPD as 20-year-old Jay Gordon.

    Gordon faces charges of hit and run, no driver’s license, no insurance and “two municipal attachments surrounding agencies.”
