Postgame: Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, RB Lawrance Toafili, and K Ryan Fitzgerald after loss to GT
"Just starting off, going to give credit to Georgia Tech, hard fought game. I thought they did a really good job offensively. Extending drives, they own the ball. Was a game with no turnovers, very few penalties. Was really a pretty clean game, and in that regards, just a good job of extending drives and obviously making the plays that were necessary. Our football team, proud of our guys prepared, the mindset and the approach was good. As we got into the game and just the smallest of things, disciplined in the call disciplined in just overall execution, you know, there's things as coaching staff, you know, for me, it's, you know, all things were, I've got to be better in helping put our guys in position to go and make those plays in the moment. You know, look at just the game in general. Was very limited possessions. And so, you know, the importance of every snap in that game was monumental. And we had seven drives in the game offensively. They did a good job there. And we scored, scored late, you know, being able to finish with the ball in their hands, and had the opportunity to get the last second kick. For our football team, it's about where our response goes from here, and obviously we're all hurt. I mean, you come, you work, you want to start off the season a certain way. And we came up short of that tonight. And I think a lot of that Georgia Tech team, and you know, the players that they have, and the things they've done, and they played well tonight. And for us, it's a bunch of plays we're gonna look back at in the course of that game. And you know, if the result of any of them is different, it'd probably be a different outcome in that game. And we get to take ownership. I take full responsibility of all things that this team does. And I've got to make sure that I'm doing a better job of helping prepare them to go out there and be in position to be able to capitalize on every play. Regardless of how many you get, or how many you don't get, we've got to obviously make it happen with those opportunities. Offensively, we have to be more explosive. I thought we had some missed opportunities there. We got to create the explosive play. They did a good job of trying to stack the box and get the safety down, definitely gave us some challenges in certain fits in the run game, but at the end of the day, we've got to control us. We've got to make sure that we go out there and play at a high level. Had some missed tackles defensively that we got to be better, got to make sure we're setting edges. They do a good job in trying to spread you sideline to sideline and force the one-on-ones. And we definitely have capable players to be able to go do that. And so we've got to continue to build upon that. Special teams-wise, you know, there's some positives of what we saw. Ryan did a great job, you know, just being able to put points on the board. 59-yarder there coming in at half which was big, but at the end of the day, this is a team sport, and we've got to take a step as a football team, and not let this one game define the outcome of what our season will be. You know, we get to respond. Here, in a week from now, we get to play another ACC opponent, and we've got to go get better, and it's going to come down to work and the overall execution of details, of fundamentals, and making that happen here next Monday."

Luck finally turning Braves' way as another colossal screw-up hands them a win
To call the Atlanta Braves "unlucky" in 2024 is a bit of an understatement. In nearly every month of the season (and sometimes more than once in a given month), they have lost a crucial piece of their roster to injury. It started with Spencer Strider being lost to Tommy John surgery for the season and since then, it has been one huge loss after another. It is honestly remarkable the Braves have been able to field a team that even resembles a big league roster lately.
