    Benton County Canine Shelter

KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Benton County Canine Shelter is asking for people’s  help. The manager said they've already had to put three dogs' medical care on hold because they don't have enough money to move forward.

The manager said their budget is strained after multiple dogs came in needing surgery and of course they're dealing with inflation just like everyone else. It's hard to predict what kind of medical care dogs will need when they come to the shelter, the manager said.

“A lot of the times they're abandoned because somebody can't afford a medical situation that's going on whether it be a tumor or a broken leg and infection, even all the way down to cheat grass in the feet. We get a lot of dogs that are abandoned because of those things. So when we bring them in, we need to get them checked up and fixed,” The manager Josh Castilleja said.

If someone is looking to donate they can call  Vista Veterinary Hospital at (509) 783-2131 and let them know you would like to donate to the Benton County Canine Shelter account Castilleja said.
