KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Kennewick Police Department said a 34-year-old man was arrested for a hit-and-run which left a 63-year-old bicyclist in the hospital.

According to officials, police responded to the call for help just after 4:30 p.m. on Paul Parish Drive between Columbia Center Boulevard and Edison Street; the roadway in Columbia Park.

Officials said a white Honda sedan hit a bicyclist and had stopped but then ran from the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Police said the 63-year-old man who was hit was transported to a local hospital for several broken ribs and lacerations but is expected to recover.

Officials said a witness with dashcam video helped officers identify the vehicle and where the driver could be.

Around 6 p.m. police said a tip let officers know the identity of the driver and officers were able to arrest 34-year-old Tyson Sturgeon, of Kennewick, on suspicion of hit-and-run with injury.

Kennewick Police are still working to investigate this case and anyone with information is asked to contact non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333 or submit an anonymous tip by clicking here.
