Woman dies in Wayne County fire

WAYNE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A woman is dead after a fire broke out at a house on Poplar Street in Kenova, according to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Fire Marshal’s Office said the fire happened around 3 a.m. on Friday in the 1700 block of Poplar Street.

The woman has not been identified. Her body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, the Fire Marshal’s Office said.

This fire is under investigation.
