Woodford County, KY Man Sentenced for Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Trafficking
ASHLAND, KY – The U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Kentucky is reporting that a Versailles, Ky., man, Francisco Camacho, Jr., 31, was sentenced on Wednesday, by U.S. District Judge David Bunning, to 198 months in prison, for conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and 500 grams of methamphetamine.
Advocates Rally Against Rising Utility Bills In WV; PSC Green Lights Solar Plant Construction
Residents in Nicholas and Clay counties could soon receive their electricity from a local solar plant, estimated to power around 90,000 homes in the region. The Public Service Commission of West Virginia recently approved construction of the plant. According to a June 2024 survey from the Pew Research Center, one-third of respondents said a nearby solar development would help their local economy.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Storms prowl region
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -This Saturday afternoon is ended as most this summer have not; namely, in thunderstorms with gusty winds and briefly heavy rains. A First Alert afternoon for pockets of heavy weather affecting outdoor plans has been deemed noteworthy. The storms are crossing the region in two distinct lines. The first has slithered its way south of I-64 thru the Coalfields of WV and Ky. The second stronger line has crossed southern Ohio and grown on its south flank into a more prominent feature in Southeastern Kentucky and Southern WV.
