ROCK HALL — A Kent County man has been charged with attempted second degree murder. According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division, Damontrall Jerry Miles, age 39, was arrested Aug. 24 after police responded to the 8000 block of Tolchester Road in Rock Hall for a reported stabbing.

Police said a 46-year-old male victim was stabbed numerous times and found in serious condition. He was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at University of Maryland by Maryland State Police Aviation.

Miles, who according to court documents does not have a fixed address, was located a short distance away and arrested. D/Sergeant Nate Blazejak said Miles was a guest in the victim’s home and the attack appeared to be unprovoked. The victim, Blazejak said, has been released and is expected to make a full recovery.

In addition to the attempted second degree murder charge, Miles was charged with first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment. Following a bail review, Miles was held at the Kent County Detention Center without bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 23 in District Court for Kent County.
