HUDSON VALLEY – Rick Zolzer, more commonly known as “Zolz” is no longer with the Hudson Valley Renegades, where he served several roles, most notably as the long-time PA announcer and leader of the between-innings entertainment for 28 of the team’s 30 years at Dutchess Stadium/Heritage Financial Park.

SOMERS, N.Y. - Mrs. Virginia Flood, a resident of Heritage Hills for 47 years, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday, July 7, with family and friends at a brunch at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, CT. Also known as Gee Gee or Ginnie, Mrs. Flood (nee Bernene) was raised in Bedford. She was an administrative assistant to the president of Northern Westchester Hospital for 25 years and has also been a member of Twigs, served on the Board of the VNA of Hudson Valley, and was Secretary of the Heritage Hills Condo Board. CHESTER – Assemblyman Brian Maher (R, Walden) describes 5-year-old Lilly Fernandez as a fun and spunky girl who has a love for music, singing, and dancing. Fernandez’s story resonates with Maher so much because the little girl reminds him of his daughter. Young Lilly was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in March and Maher has organized a team to support the Fernandez family, which includes fundraising. Recently, July 16, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a record State investment of nearly $51 million for public safety on Long Island. Nassau County agencies received $1,494,692 and Suffolk County agencies received $1,307,677 for the GIVE funding cycle that runs from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. This funding also includes approximately $21.1 million in one-time capital funding to 39 police departments and sheriffs’ offices – including $387,042 for the purchase of law enforcement technology and equipment to allow those agencies more effectively solve, reduce and prevent crime.
