Firefighters Battle Blazes in Arizona's East Valley and Ross Island, Southeast Portland
Smoke signals of distress billowed across two separate horizons this past week as firefighters battled blazes both in the east Valley and on Ross Island, Southeast Portland. In the arid expanse of Maricopa County, teams from Mesa, Gilbert, and the Superstition Fire Department converged on a storage yard conflagration near Apache Trail and Mountain Road, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. While no casualties have been reported, the cause behind the flames remains a shrouded mystery, as persistent as the smoke that rose high into the Arizona sky.

Review: RENT at Blackfriars Theatre
Throughout modern Broadway history, there seems to be one musical that defines every era. The 1970s gave us “A Chorus Line”; the 80s brought “The Phantom of the Opera”; “Wicked” and “Book of Mormon” dominated the aughts, and “Hamilton” has reigned supreme since 2015. But in the ’90s, much of the wider pop culture was defined by “Rent”, Jonathan Larson’s magnum opus about young bohemians during the height of the AIDS crisis. It’s currently getting a heartfelt, well-produced rendition at Rochester’s Blackfriars Theatre for the company’s annual summer intensive program.

About Business – West Ridge Wine & Spirits
Brittany Linder and Freddy Martinez decided to embark on a new adventure in the fall of 2023. The thought of leaving behind a revenue stream for their three children fueled their dream of owning their own business. Their love for gathering with friends and family in their home and visiting different wineries around NYS easily translated into owning a liquor store. At West Ridge Wine & Spirits they’re able to help create endless cocktails and aid customers in creating the perfect pairing for their own family gatherings. They say the Spencerport, Brockport, Hamlin, Parma and Hilton communities have been amazing clientele, and getting to know their customers has been the highlight of their journey. “Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive,” Brittany said. The couple is now in their fourth month of business and can’t wait to meet new customers.
