GNADENHUTTEN ‒ Aaron Davis, a multi-subject educator at his alma mater Indian Valley High School in the Indian Valley Local School District, has been selected as Regional State Board District 8 Teacher of the Year.

"I am truly humbled and honored to be recognized by the state board of education," Davis said. "I feel incredibly blessed to live and work in such an amazing school district, surrounded by dedicated teachers, wonderful students, and a supportive community. This recognition is a testament to the team effort that goes into providing the best educational experience for our kids, and I am so proud to be a part of it."

Davis earned his bachelor's degree in education from Kent State University in 2004 followed by a master's in special education from Malone University in 2012. For the past 12 years, he has offered a diverse range of courses in grades nine through 12, including college credit plus psychology, sociology, government, multimedia productions, and aerial videos using drone technology.

He also serves as the assistant marching band director for the state-qualifying competition band and the adviser for both Braves Nation Communications, the school's media extracurricular group, and the pep band.

Since its inception in 1964, the Ohio Teacher of the Year program annually identifies exceptional teachers statewide celebrating their effective work in and outside the classroom.
