The Kent Downtown Partnership’s (KDP) inaugural “Salsa in the Streets” event danced its way to a resounding success on Saturday, July 13, 2024, attracting an estimated 700-800 people to downtown Kent during the 2024 Kent Cornucopia Days.

The free event offered attendees the chance to dance, enjoy live music, and explore the historic downtown area.

    • The event saw 596 preregistrations on Eventbrite and 425 on Facebook.
    • Four local bands provided live music, adding to the festive atmosphere.
    • Additionally, 151 attendees visited the Beer Garden, sampling beverages from local brewery 23rd Ave Brewery, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, and various Washington state wines.

Kent Downtown Partnership expressed gratitude to the community for their support and participation in promoting and attending the event.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and look forward to making this an annual tradition,” said Kingfisher Abernethy, Events & Admin Coordinator for the KDP. “Thank you for always helping us promote events and get the word out to the Kent community!”
