The San Pablo Police Department recognized two officers who helped save a persons life in May. According to police, on May 15th, 2024, San Pablo Police officers responded to an opioid overdose medical emergency within our community. When Officer Foster and Officer Kobold arrived, they found a 21-year old male who was unresponsive and without a pulse. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures by administering Narcan and CPR, and were able to revive the subject as medical personnel arrived on scene.

Vallejo police chase ends in fatal crash for occupant of vehicle allegedly fleeing
VALLEJO -- A male who was allegedly in a car fleeing police in Vallejo early Saturday morning died after the vehicle he was in collided with another car, according to police.Just before 1 a.m., officers attempted to carry out a traffic stop near Sonoma Boulevard and Lemon Street. Police allege that the driver failed to yield and instead drove off at a high rate of speed.Police pursued the vehicle but the chase ended when the suspects' car collided with an uninvolved vehicle at Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street, the department spokesperson said.First responders came to the scene to render aid to the occupants of both vehicles but one of the male occupants in the suspects' vehicle succumbed to his injuries and died, according to police.The rest of the people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital.Solano County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating what happened and the Vallejo Police Department said it is "dedicated to maximum transparency" regarding the collision and its investigation.
CHP rescues kitten stranded on the side of I-80 in Oakland
A kitten stranded on the side of the highway Friday night was rescued after a call to the California Highway Patrol. Around 8 p.m., the CHP said they got a call about a kitten being stranded on the side of Interstate 80, near the I-580 eastbound transition. CHP officer Bretz responded to the call and found the kitten scared and shaking near the highway. "Officer Bretz quickly and calmly rescued this adorable fur-ball from getting hit," the CHP said. "We're thankful to those that called this in and grateful for officer Bretz's quick action and kind heart."
