Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was met with a smattering of boos mixed with cheers while speaking for the Kentucky delegation at the Republican National Convention .

State delegations cast their votes for former President Donald Trump in Milwaukee Monday afternoon, and most speakers representing the various states received warm praise. Among the speakers were Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and Eric Trump for Florida, but while they were met with near-universal praise, it was a different story for McConnell.

McConnell struggled somewhat to speak as the noise rang out around him and did not make his announcement with the same fervor as some of the other speakers who enthusiastically announced their support for Trump. His microphone also seemed to cut out at times during his remarks.

Earlier in the afternoon, McConnell received some boos while being announced as an honorary chairman of the convention.

McConnell has endured a rocky relationship with Trump over the last eight years, teaming up to confirm three justices to the Supreme Court but sparring over policy differences and McConnell's sometimes wavering support for the former president.

McConnell will step down as Senate minority leader in November.
