RNC crowd boos Sen. Mitch McConnell

During the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell faced boos from the crowd as he cast Kentucky's delegate votes. Despite the jeers, McConnell smiled and gave a thumbs-up while announcing the Bluegrass State's 46 votes for Donald Trump.

Although McConnell endorsed Trump in March , their relationship has been rocky since the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, calling the former president's actions a 'disgraceful dereliction of duty.'

According to a Huffington Post reporter, when asked what he thought of Trump's selection for vice president, McConnell said, " Great choice ."

Earlier this year, McConnell announced he would step down from his leadership post in November but plans to finish his current term in the Senate, which is set to end in January 2027.
