Nature and art enthusiasts, mark your calendars for a one-of-a-kind creative retreat amidst the verdant embrace of the Floracliff Nature Sanctuary. The "Floracliff: Creating Art in Nature at Elk Lick Falls — Red Oaks Forest School" event is an exceptional opportunity for those who find their muse in the great outdoors.

On Tuesday, May 7th, from 1pm to 5pm, the sanctuary will transform into an open-air studio for both aspiring and seasoned artists. Whether you're a naturalist eager to capture the essence of the landscape or an artist seeking tranquility for your work, this session is designed to inspire. With the guidance available upon request, you can refine your skills and perhaps discover new techniques as you create.

The event assumes some familiarity with art materials but is open to all skill levels. It's a chance to explore your creativity in a stunning, secluded environment. The sessions are free, catering to a small group of up to 12 participants aged 16 and above, ensuring an intimate and focused experience. Remember, if you're under 18, you'll need a guardian to accompany you.

Participants are encouraged to bring their preferred art supplies, a ground cloth or seat, snacks, water, insect repellent, and a sun hat for comfort. Be prepared to carry your materials, potentially up to a half-mile, to find that perfect spot within nature's gallery.

The session will be hosted by Steve Bennett and Laura Mentor, who are ready to welcome you into this artistic haven. Don't miss out on this unique chance to blend your artistic flair with the beauty of Floracliff. Interested? Secure your spot by signing up at the Floracliff website and join us at 8000 Elk Lick Falls Rd, Lexington, KY, for an afternoon of art and nature combined.
