NEW ORLEANS — Things are gradually getting hotter for us in Southeast Louisiana, as high pressure at the mid-upper levels of the atmosphere will keep us dry and definitely warmer than normal through the end of this week. A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. tonight, as the heat index Tuesday afternoon could be over 110. a heat advisory will be issued also for Wednesday, as the chance for rain there will also be small. Rain chances go up a bit by the end of the week, and that may help cool us down a bit in the afternoons, but high temperatures are still expected to be above average through the weekend.
