Multiple Agencies in Wild Chase, Apprehend Two Suspected in Armed Robbery, Shooting
A wild chase that began with an armed robbery and shooting in Omro ended in Fond du Lac with the arrests of two persons on Monday. Winnebago County and Omro Police were responding to the incident at about 7:15 p.m. Monday where they found a 65-year-old Omro man who advertised his car on Facebook Marketplace. He’d been shot when two persons answering the ad struggled over a firearm, prompting the suspects to flee south on I-41 toward Fond du Lac in a U-Haul truck.

In the wake of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, a 21-year-old man was apprehended near the Republican National Convention site in Milwaukee. The suspect, wearing a ski mask and armed with an AK-47 pistol, was detained by Capitol Police and Homeland Security Investigations near the Fiserv Forum on Monday, July 15.
