BROWNSBORO, Texas ( KETK ) – In this edition of Small Town Live, KETK’s Isaac Ramirez got to visit Brownsboro, one of the oldest and friendliest cities in East Texas.

SMALL TOWN SALUTE: Say bonjour to Paris, Texas

Brownsboro is a city in Henderson County with a population of 1,270 friendly people. According to the Texas State Historical Association, the city is named after John “Red” Brown, who settled in the area in 1849. Brownsboro is near the site of Old Normandy, a Norwegian settlement.

Earlier this month, Brownsboro celebrated their 175th anniversary with their Pioneer Day celebration. In the video above, Trayce West with the Brownsboro Chamber of Commerce spoke with Isaac about their celebration and what makes their community so unique.

Isaac also got to speak with Morgan Smith, the owner of Sew You Can Sew, in the video below. Smith started her business after she was asked to make a T-shirt quilt on Facebook and now she’s the owner of one Brownsboro’s many niche small businesses.

In the Small Town Live video below, Robin Savage with Keep Brownsboro Beautiful spoke with Isaac about their efforts to make the city even more beautiful.

Savage explained how their non-profit recently held a clean-up day where 21 people came out to clean up sidewalks, curbs, benches and more.

Be sure to tune in to Small Town Live next Thursday, May 2, when Isaac will head over to the City of Winnsboro.
