    UPDATE: Center 23-year-old found safe in Mexico

    UPDATE: The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced that Alexis Calzada was found safe in Juarez, Mexico and has been taken to a law enforcement facility in El Paso waiting for her family to pick her up.


    SHELBY COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – Shelby County officials are seeking information about a missing 23-year-old after their belongings arrived on a Greyhound bus without them.

    According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Alexis Calzada, 23 of Center, was last seen in Sweetwater on Saturday at 8:41 a.m.

    The sheriff’s office said that she was last seen wearing pink fuzzy slippers and carrying a mint green backpack. They reported that Calzada’s belongings arrived on a Greyhound bus in Dallas, but she was not on the bus.

    According to a release, Calzada is described as being “a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes, short hair and has a tattoo on her left forearm with the name Dub Coyle surrounded in angel wings.”

    Anyone with information on Calzada’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office at 325-235-5471 or Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chad Hooper at 936-572-5045.
