Tyler ISD school to unveil colorful mural to inspire students

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – Caldwell Arts Academy, a Tyler Independent School District magnet school, now has a one-of-a-kind mural in its halls.

According to the district, the mural will be unveiled Thursday afternoon during the middle school’s meet the teacher event.

“We are excited to partner with the City of Tyler and Caldwell Arts Alliance to bring Brady Smith, an illustrator and actor, to create a unique mural inside Caldwell Arts Academy,” Principal Dr. Bobby Markle said.

Smith’s bright, colorful artwork, that he refers to as “Tex-mex”, is inspired by southern Texas where he grew up.

“This mural will bring out the imagination and wonder in Caldwell students daily,” Tyler ISD said.

Smith will also be at the unveiling with students and their parents in attendance at 5:30 p.m.
