TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) — Every football season brings new questions, but for the Tyler Legacy Red Raiders, they already have a few answers, namely the strength of their team, which is an offensive line, with all five returning starters.

“It’s huge, you know, this game starts up front, big men rule the world, that’s my philosophy,” said head coach Beau Trahan.

“He’s not going to take shortcuts, you know, we are going to play physical, and we’re going to play fast, and we’re going to win games,” said guard Eric Miller.

“I’m glad that all five of my linemen are back, we have a better feel for the game now and feel for running the ball, so, we should do good this year,” said running back Micah Pearson.

There is going to be a quarterback battle here at Legacy, but whoever comes out on top, and earns the job, he’s going to benefit from the experience up front on the line, as well as what he has in the backfield.

“We are all good, it really doesn’t matter which guy it is, but we are all good, we are a team so, we’re good,” said Pearson.

“We rushed the ball really good, I think that will carry over to the season for sure and we’ll win a lot of games, for sure,” said Miller.

“Got to preach physicality, got to be physical with the teams we’re playing, established programs, physicality wins, so, we’ve got to match physicality, and then we’ve got to be very efficient in what we do,” Trahan.

There’s plenty of youth on this Red Raider football team, but they should have room to grow, with the experienced big guys up front, having their back.

Tyler Legacy will open the season on the road on Thursday, August 29th, at 7:00 p.m. against the Marshall Mavericks.
