The Longview Chamber of Commerce hopes that the summit helps East Texas Businesses expand their footprint.

“Great example of how our region can come together to support business,” Kelly Hall, Longview Chamber Of Commerce president & CEO, said.

Speakers presented a panel and Congressman Nathaniel Moran was invited.

“You would be surprised at how many businesses and individuals are affected by our trade and our foreign policies internationally, we are connected economically,” Moran said.

The event allowed business leaders to network and plan to positively impact the economy.

“To enhance our economy here in East Texas and to support our employees here in East Texas,” Moran said.

Companies that do business abroad were encouraged to use the agencies built to support them.

“The trade international department the BSA the SBDC, the XBank, all of these agencies have been built to support the community,” Hall said.

Congressman Moran explained how all US businesses must be protected.

“So many companies in East Texas get their supplies from overseas. We need to have the right perspective and the right policies in place to protect our Texas businesses and to protect our consumers,” Moran said.

Hall shared that if East Texas businesses continue to expand their footprint, in time it could bring more people to our region.

“If we can provide a better quality of life which is going to attract people to want to live, work, and play in East Texas,” Hall said.
