RUSK COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – A 90-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon in a crash on US 79 near Chapman.

5 arrested after cocaine, firearms seized in East Texas residence

According to the Department of Public Safety, 90-year-old Edward Truelock, of Henderson, was driving a Kubota Utility Vehicle at the time of the crash.

At around 5:17 p.m. the Kubota was travelling west on the highway when it failed to yield and turned in front of a eastbound Ford pickup, DPS said.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Ford pickup hit the Kubota and Truelock was ejected. DPS said the driver of the pickup was also injured and they were taken to a local hospital.

After the crash, US 79 was closed and drivers were rerouted.

The Rusk County Emergency Management said the highway reopened at around 8:55 p.m. on and DPS is still investigating.
