TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – Habitat for Humanity of Smith County (HFHSC) announced on Wednesday that they have funding available to complete critical home repairs for people who may not be able to afford them in Smith and Cherokee counties.

Lack of funding could cause small East Texas Christian school to shut down

According to a release, HFHSC is seeking individuals and families, specifically seniors living outside of Tyler city limits, who own their home but may not be able to afford critical repairs.

The organization said that some of the qualifying projects include but are not limited to:

    • Wheelchair ramp installation
    • Roof repairs
    • Heating or AC systems
    • Leveling floors
    • Making kitchen cabinets easily accessible
    • Making doorways and bathrooms easier to use with a wheelchair or walker

Anyone who is interested is encouraged to call HFHSC at 903-595-6630 to make an appointment to discuss qualifications with their team.
