Audree Smith is a clarinet player for Winona ISD and she has been invited to perform at the world renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City.

“Very proud of her. Sixth grade, they’re all just learning their instruments. Seventh grade, you get a little better and then eighth grade, you get a little bit better. She tries to make herself the best she can each year,” Winona ISD band director Justin Ketner said.

Smith was invited to play after she made her way into the Association of Texas Small School Bands All-State Band. She is set to perform this November in the Big Apple.

“To be able to go to New York just to play my clarinet, it’s so exciting” Smith said.
