First ever Piney Woods Comic Con held in Lufkin

LUFKIN, Texas ( KETK ) – The first ever Piney Woods Comic Con was held at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center in Lufkin this weekend.

Guests of the convention included Peter Kelamis, who has voiced Goku in ‘Dragon Ball Z’, Kevin Sorbo, who starred in ‘Hercules’ and ‘God’s Not Dead’ and Carla Perez, who played the villainous Rita Repulsa in ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’.

“I considered myself a bit of a nerd growing up too, so this is like Vegas for nerds,” said Kelamis. “That’s a compliment because if you have a passion for either comic books, or anime, or certain TV shows, or just anime art or comics or anything like that, there are places like this where you are not alone. You can come and celebrate your interests with people that are like-minded and that’s what is so cool about these events.”
