LUFKIN, Texas ( KETK ) – The Lufkin City Council has approved a $25,000 land deposit for an 11-arce tract of the city’s business park to be occupied by Clean Carbon Development Partners LLC .

Longview City Council unanimously approve biomining facility, despite residents concerns

The council’s unanimous approval of the deposit is one of the first steps towards bringing a minimum capital investment of $75 million to the area along with 20 to 25 jobs.

Clean Carbon Development Partners LLC, a Jupiter, Florida company, is a sustainable technology company that’s working to decarbonize the metals industry by producing clean biocarbon from forestry and mill wood leftovers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Clean Carbon Development Partners, LLC to our community,” Lufkin Economic Development Director Bob Samford said. “Their dedication to sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology perfectly complements our vision for economic advancement and environmental responsibility.”

The deposit from Clean Carbon has also nearly filled the City of Lufkin’s Business Park. The company expects to start hiring for the facility by 2028.

“This development will drive business growth and enhance Lufkin’s economic landscape,” Samford said. “It positions us alongside successful local engineering and manufacturing firms, reflecting our community’s spirit of innovation.”
